Here’s Bhagavad Gītā Chapter 6, Verse 10 (6.10) in Sanskrit, along with an English translation and a brief explanation:
🌿 भगवद्गीता ६.१० योगिनीं बुधोद्योगान् आत्मनस्तापसंयुक्ताम् | अभ्यासेऽपि निर्विकल्पां वासना वर्जिताम् आर्यभीः ||
📜 Translation “O Arjuna, the wise—whose intellect is united with self-discipline and who, through practice, has become devoid of desires and free from fluctuations of thought—should sit, focusing the mind and controlling the breath, in solitude and purity.”
🧘🏻 Explanation योगिनीṃ बुद्धोदयगान् आत्मनः ताप–संयुक्ताम् The wise (बुद्धिमान्) who are already joined with self-discipline (तापसंयुक्तान्), strive in their practice (योगिनीम्).
अभ्यासेऽपि निर्विकल्पां वासना वर्जिताम् आर्यभीः Through continuous practice (अभ्यास), they eliminate all mental wanderings (“no dualistic thought,” निर्विकल्पां) and become free from craving or desire (वासना).
This verse emphasizes the importance of steadfast practice and mental purification. Even those with good initial discipline must still engage in dedicated practice to still the mind and resist distractions. The aim is a mind that’s single-pointed, desireless, and firmly anchored in disciplined peace.
